Jackson Wild
The Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival was the parent organization of a prestigious film festival, which had expanded into a nature film awards event, a conservation gathering, a science conference and awards event, and professional development activities for wildlife filmmakers. The organization’s name no longer communicated the expanded scope of the organization’s nature media footprint. Nestled against the iconic backdrop of Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming, the organization sought a new identity to reflect its expanded scope and a strategic plan to guide its future activities. Azure Media’s principal conducted an in-depth analysis of the organization’s various business enterprises, interviewed stakeholders, and conducted a brandy equity audit of the organization’s assets.
Azure Media determined that the organization’s physical presence in Jackson Hole near the Tetons carried significant brand equity. Azure recommended a new shorter name, Jackson Wild, communicating both the organization's unique location and the nature of its work – showcasing the mountains in the logo, and renaming the festival to the Jackson Summit, giving a nod to the iconic mountains. Azure also proposed positioning Jackson Wild as an organization that translates awareness generated from wildlife and nature filmmaking into tangible impact…conservation. Jackson Wild’s new identity launched with the pillars: Nature. Media. Impact.
To deliver on its impact commitment, Jackson Wild partnered with the Secretary of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) to launch the World Wildlife Day Film Showcase, a yearly global film showcase committed to stewardship of endangered species. Other recommendations included the organization serve as an international convener of like-minded filmmakers, which spawned “The Collective,” a global community and catalyst for connection and mentorship, and that Jackson Wild seek more diverse representation in storytelling, which generated Jackson Wild Frontiers Media Lab and Summit Fellowships.
Today, Jackson Wild is vibrant, inclusive, and impactful and is seen as the world’s leading nature and wildlife media-making organization.
