Anne Zeiser, Founder & President
Anne Zeiser is a documentary filmmaker, impact producer, journalist, and media strategist, creating at the nexus of storytelling and social change. She has stewarded iconic series for PBS and produced news for CBS, managed national brands for marketing firms, and served in government.
The founder of Azure Media, she produces media projects that fuel social impact. She has successfully launched documentary and feature films, television series and specials, mobile games and apps, online video and media communities, social impact campaigns, and film studios and media organizations. Project partners include PBS, BBC, ABC, National Geographic, GBH, NOVA, NPR, PRX, Jackson Wild, HHMI-Tangled Bank Studios, Vulcan Productions, Providence Pictures, Sikelia Productions (formerly Cappa), Universal, Miramax, and Time.
Projects
Most recently she executive produced Emmy (Lone Star) and Telly Award-winning Muraling Austin, a three-part documentary series for PBS about street art’s impact, along with companion social studies lesson plans on PBS LearningMedia. She is the director, producer, and writer of Touching the Sun, about the science and symbolism of our closest star and Democracy on the Brink, about the rise of authoritarianism in the U.S. and worldwide, and the producer of Food Uprising!, about the link between food and health. Other previous noteworthy projects include Beating Superbugs, Gorongosa Park – Rebirth of Paradise, The Human Face of Big Data, Vaccines – Calling the Shots, Judgment Day: Intelligent Design on Trial, The Bible’s Buried Secrets, The List, This Emotional Life, The Story Exchange, and Latin Music USA, and Where God Left His Shoes.
Background
Before Azure Media, Anne led strategy, marketing, and impact at GBH for PBS's national national icons – from NOVA, Frontline, and American Experience to Masterpiece, Antiques Roadshow, and Curious George. There she co-led award-winning NOVA mini-series National Geographic’s Strange Days on Planet Earth, Rx for Survival: A Global Health Challenge, and Evolution and produced their impact campaigns. She also created Zoom into Action and Take One Step impact initiatives, launched Masterpiece’s “The Complete Jane Austin,” and co-helmed juggernaut, Martin Scorsese Presents the Blues.
Prior to PBS, Anne was a news producer for CBS and CBS Boston where she worked on national and international news, consumer affairs, elections and politics, and 60 Minutes. Also, she was a senior vice president at several marketing firms including Arnold Worldwide (formerly Cabot) and MullenLowe where she managed strategy, corporate social responsibility, and public relations for numerous international brands – from Marriott Hotels, Resorts & Suites to Ziff Davis. Anne has extensive experience in public affairs as a legislative aide and researcher, a project manager for the clean-up of Boston Harbor, and an election campaign manager.

Anne has contributed to Oscar, Emmy, Peabody, duPont-Columbia, BAFTA, and Grammy award-winning projects and her work has received national honors from the Emmys, Tellys, Promax, PRSA’s Silver Anvil, PR Week’s Arts, Entertainment & Media Campaign of the Year awards, and more. She is the author of Transmedia Marketing: From Film and TV to Games and Digital Media (Focal Press’s American Film Market® Presents) and contributes to MediaPost and Huffington Post. Anne has presented at the American Film Market, Jackson Wild Summit, World Congress of Science and Factual Producers, AFI Docs, StoryCode, Science Media Awards & Summit, and The Asia Society. As an adjunct professor at Emerson College she created “Storytelling for Impact” and “Transmedia Producing” courses and guest lectures on impact producing at the University of Texas at Austin. Anne is a member of the Television Academy, Impact Guild, and Filmmakers Collaborative’s advisory board.
